Please pay attention, pig farmers!

2024-04-24

When raising pigs, you should pay attention to the following points:

Disease prevention and control: Regularly administer vaccinations, especially for diseases that cannot be effectively treated, such as swine fever, parvovirus, and pseudorabies. Keep pigsties clean and disinfected to reduce the incidence of disease.
Environmental control: Maintain a suitable temperature, such as between 18 and 29 degrees Celsius; ensure that pig houses have good ventilation, insulation, and cleanliness; keep the environment dry and avoid dampness to reduce ammonia odor and the incidence of disease.
Feed and water management: Provide high-quality feed and avoid feeding moldy feed; ensure the water source remains clean; offer a varied diet that includes coarse feeds such as barley, rice bran, and soybean hulls; feed at regular intervals and in fixed amounts, adjusting the feeding schedule according to the season.
Reproductive management: Select and replace breeding pigs appropriately as needed; control stocking density to enhance pig productivity and growth performance.
Health monitoring: Regularly check the health condition of pigs and promptly identify and address any issues.
Handle promptly. If pigs are found to be sick, they should be immediately isolated and disinfected to prevent the spread of disease.
In addition, for smaller pig farms, the ratio of boars to sows should be planned appropriately, and inefficient individuals should be culled in a timely manner.
